Fossil Merchant

Scattered around Tidepools, it is possible to find fossils. These can be sold to The Fossil Merchant in exchange for Lucite Shards, Curios, or ,at the beginning of the story, pieces of Sanity's crashed research vehicle. There is a rumor that if one befriends the fossil merchant, they may reveal their secret collection, which is supposedly "Very impressive" according to a random entity that claims to have seen it.

The "hood" part of their "cloak" can create an airtight seal, allowing them to walk along the seafloor for up to 30 minutes at a time. If they aren't on the surface, they're probably down there, extracting high-quality specimens from the thick gray silt.

They have a rivalry with Shelsie, but are actually pretty good friends with her in matters outside of buisiness.
