Squat

He's a squid with a hat, his name is Squat! (That should rhyme)

In truth, he's actually biologically closer to an Orthoceras, an extinct species of nautiloid with a pointed shell. 

Due to the mystical properties of the hat, he can do a little bit of magic. Nothing crazy, just lifting small objects, shooting motes of energy , lighting candles ect.  He is also fluent in reading the language of the white marble ruins enough to translate them at a glance.

Squat first obtained his iconic hat by winning it as a prize from a game in the Shattered Carnival. 

He can be found in a small grotto near The Tidepools.
